The detail we never thought to mention
This one genuinely caught us out. Derek's five-star review praises the strike plate and the screws for matching the matte black finish throughout.
The strike plate. The little metal rectangle that gets screwed into the door frame and disappears the moment the door shuts.
We finish those to match because leaving them raw would look wrong, and until we read that review it had never once occurred to us that anybody would notice. He noticed. And it turns out the reason cheap hardware often looks cheap is precisely this — a nice lever arriving with a shiny zinc strike plate and mismatched screws, which you then either live with or drive to a hardware store about.
What people photograph
Eleven of the Quadra reviews came with customer photos, and there's a pattern in them too: matte black levers on white doors, over and over. Hallways, laundry rooms, panelled doors, a staircase visible through a doorway.
